Stress, Emotions, &

Trauma Work

Stress, emotions and trauma work can help you to explore how stress, emotions and trauma show up in your body and manifest in your voice.

This work can include stress and trauma related to any form of communication and/or vocal expression.  It also can be for those who completed traditional voice/ swallowing/ speech  therapy with a more traditional Speech-Language Pathologist but feel that they want to get to the deeper source of their disorder or injury.  In my experience, working with these tools can profoundly increase the efficacy of tools already being used.

Through this type of work you can learn how to express emotions or parts of yourself that don’t otherwise get much airtime. This work draws upon my primary vocal lineage of Alfred Wolfson and Roy Hart and my work as a Somatic Experiencing® professional. Interestingly, working with trauma does not have to be difficult or draining.

In fact, from the modalities from which I work, the goal is for you to leave each session feeling more deeply resourced, embodied, and in touch with your inner spark. This work can be incredibly playful and even fun, and can allow for a reconnection with a sense of curiosity. It is incredibly beautiful to witness how working through trauma can lead to joyful liberation of the voice.

My voice work with Wynde was deep healing work. Just as our bodies store pain and trauma, I discovered through our work together that so does our voice. I was able to peel away layers of sadness and grief to unlock my true potential within. I am so grateful for the way they guided and held me with such care and gentleness throughout this journey. – DTS
