Speech-Language Pathology
Voice Therapy
Speech-language pathology voice therapy is recommended if you are experiencing physical pain and/or discomfort with your voice, an unexpected change in your voice, or find that you need to frequently clear your throat or cough.
In this setting I work with the following areas:
Chronic cough
Muscle tension dysphonia
Paradoxical vocal fold motion/inducible laryngeal obstruction
Vocal fold lesions (nodules, cysts, polyps, etc.)
Vocal fold atrophy
Gender affirming voice (training and/or pre- or post-surgery)
Neurological Voice Disorders
Stuttering
…and more
For this type of work, you must first see a laryngologist or ENT. I am part of an interdisciplinary team at California Pacific Voice and Swallowing through Sutter Health where I work closely with Dr. Katherine Yung.
This work may be covered by your insurance if completed with me at California Pacific Voice and Swallowing. Please contact them directly at (415) 600-0151 to see if your insurance covers it.
Frequently people work with me privately after completing more conventional Speech/Language/Voice Therapy when they wish to work through trauma and/or stress at the root of their communication disorder. See more about trauma and/or stress one on one work HERE.
